Dealing with Guilt is a Tough Phase of my Life.

It is always much easier to forgive others than to forgive yourself. When you are feeling guilty over any situation, your mind keep asking a question, “why I did this?” Our greatest relationship is with ourselves and we can accept the wrong doings of others to certain extent, but it is hard to deal with your own intentional or unintentional mistakes. However, failures and mistakes are the parts of life and they must not create hindrance in the ultimate path of your life. You are born to be happy and peaceful and accomplish your life goals.

How to deal with guilt?

Shift your focus

First of all, you need to accept that you have to overcome the feeling of guilt for your own good. You have to accept that it all happened to give you a lesson, so you can keep your eyes open in the future. You have to accept that time is precious and you can’t waste it in pondering over a thought, situation or a person.

Accept it as experience

Everything happens in your life for a reason. People come into your life either as blessing or as lesson. We all make mistakes in life and you are not the only one in the universe who has committed a mistake. You need to forget the past, but keep the lesson. Even if you know it was your mistake, you have to accept and not to repeat it in future.

Surround yourself with positive people

Your company matters the most in changing your attitude towards life. Sometimes, it is important to stay away from the people sucking your brain and keep the company of positive personalities having faith in god, dreams and aspirations. You should be in company of those who can shift your focus from guilt to the positive aspects of life and help you to move on.

Indulge in self-love and self-care

Loving yourself is as much important as loving others. Sometimes you are not loved back and you feel guilty for loving the other person. But, the reason may be the god wants you to love yourself. You should pamper yourself and indulge in everything you love. It may be yoga, dance, sports or any other such activities.

Focus on your dreams and aspirations

Dreams and aspirations take you higher in life and give you zeal to live life. You should be always focused on your dreams, no matter what happens in your life. You need to tell your heart, “This too shall pass by.

Prayer and meditation

Prayers and meditation gives you strength from within. When you think you have done something wrong, ask for forgiveness from almighty and promise not to repeat it again. Meditate daily at least for fiveminutes to connect with your inner self. If you could join some meditation courses, it will be really beneficial in improving your overall mental health.

Life is a journey and you must keep focused on ultimate goal of your life. Even when life seems dark, keep moving and there will be light at the other side of the tunnel.
